It's difficult to find a better option for Roti in all of Toronto aside from its equal sister site of Ghandi's. Be forewarned however, each and every spice level is like a level hotter than one might anticipate it to be!
According to Toronto.com, a roti is defined as “a handheld wrap of roti bread, thin and chewy, swaddled around a portion of savoury curry.” The article also named Mother India in Parkdale as a popular place for roti with a legendary butter chicken. Because of that, we decided to go there for our first Toronto roti experience.
Hands down the best roti in Parkdale/Queen West. My favourites are the chicken korma and the saag paneer roti. Don't forget a samosa and a pakora, so tasty.
Good Spice. Went here for lunch on a Wednesday with my pregnant sister (she was keen to induce her labour). The service was slow but adequate. Our waiter was actually quite friendly but never came to check up on us. One thing I very much appreciated was that he brought us a jug of water so we didn't constantly have to ask for refills!I ordered the Vegetable Korma Roti and my sister got the Butter Chicken Roti and requested that it be made quite spicy. We both very much enjoyed our food as it came hot and fresh out of the kitchen. The serving was twice as much as I could finish so here's hoping the leftovers taste just as good!
