It is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE to be told that something is one price and then, find out AFTER the purchase, that it IS actually a totally different and HIGHER price. I do not EVER mind paying for a quality product, when I am AWARE of how much an item will cost but I was outright given totally inaccurate prices when I ASKED how much individual items were. This is NO WAY to run a business, as it is VERY QUESTIONABLE behaviour. If you value your customers and want them to REMAIN your customers, TRANSPARENCY and HONESTY are ESSENTIAL.
Conci is the most special and by far my favourite bakery in Toronto. If you’ve never met a bakery with its own aura you should probably check this place out. I would consider it sacrilege to dare leave without at least one their famous traditional kouignamann pastries.
Conci has quickly established itself as an ESSENTIAL bakery in the landscape of Toronto. They have some of the best pastries in the whole city and what really takes it to the next level is how laid back and cute the whole vibe is. The skill is top notch but it doesn’t have a pretentious feel at all, it feels very warm and welcoming. They also make enough pastries that you can roll up after noon and still have a decent selection. They sell great wine and have dinner events too but they are worth a trip for a plain croissant alone.
The service was poor. The girl at the front desk didn't know what was the stuffing of the differents sandwiches she had. The cheese croissant was ok but the croque monsieur was not good since it was only cooked on one side. We also took a brioche and I would not recommend it. I just hope it was a bad day for the café and that it doesn't represent the full experience.
Awesome spot. Would definitely be coming back for more of the bakery.
