The noodles were a bit al dente which I really liked as I do not like overcooked noodles. People complain about the noodles being too hard but I did not find that to be the case. I thought the noodles were cooked in an authentic fashion.Service: The order taker was polite and friendly. She said to collect in 15 minutes. The order was ready in 15 minutes. The hostess was polite and friendly. The whole team was polite and friendly. It was a brief experience but I loved being there. Setting: The restaurant was clean, bright, airy and had a good vibe.I'm so glad this spot is now in my neighbourhood. It will be my go-to if I am not cooking at home.
We went here on Saturday night and were first in line for a group of 6 people. This is a very small place with only 1 table that can accommodate a group this size. All other tables were for 2 people, otherwise there is the bar. The layout of the place also make it kind of squeezed especially those waiting in line. The food was good but not excellent with portion enough for a single person for the ramen. We ordered ramen for everyone with different flavors and all were good with the original flavor being the best out of what we ordered. There was also a couple of mistakes in our orders one with the ramen itself and another with the number of tea orders which they rectified. Also had to pay for parking which can also be significant especially if the length of stay is extended from chit-chatting among friends.Overall, I rate this place a 3-star based on the long wait time for groups, layout and size, mistakes in the order. This place is ideal for 1 or 2 people or for takeouts.
Great place for lunch. Easy ordering - menu maps out your choices (broth, thick or thin noodles, extra topping). And you can add extra noodles for $2 if you order them at the beginning. It was about $12 for a large bowl. I ordered the thick noodles which to me seemed like standard ramen. The spicy broth was medium but a little more spicy than that to me. It was too hot for me, but I preferred the flavour of it to the original - although both were delicious. I would definitely go there again since there are a number of locations, one of which is near by home.
I've read a lot of good reviews other people wrote and I don't understand how my experience was so bad. I know ramen really well. I have it at least twice a month and in fact, I had it twice this week, My wife and I ordered two different ramens and both were terrible. The taste, the look and flavor were absolutely off. The broth, which is supposed to be reach and creamy was just fatty instead and the meat looked like boiled beef. Absolutely tasteless and disappointing. Maybe we had a bad luck or they were running out of soup but it was simply disappointing. There are at least two incredibly good ramen places in 15 minute walking distance from there (I don't want to mention the names) where for the same price you can get a great ramen,
I go to Kinton Ramen whenever I visit Toronto and catch an exhibit at the AGO just around the corner. Ramen is made fresh in the open kitchen, broth comes in many flavours and toppings. spicy garlic is my favourite, a great cure for what ails you. Kinton's pork broth is really tasty, so good that I've not had the chicken. that's the kind of place it is, certain dishes have a following, keeps you coming back for more. Noodles have good flavour and texture, cooked perfectly maintaining their texture start-to-finish. never soggy. Decor is modern, ambiance boisterous and servers friendly. Prices are reasonable $10.99 for a bowl of ramen, appetizers $3 - $6. Kinton on Baldwin street is small and popular, get there early or sit at the bar. Recommended.
