It 's also a 10-12 minute walk from Union Station. Since we took the GO Train in, that was another bonus reason to give Hey Lucy a try.Checking out the menu their wood fired pizza 's looked great. Tasty starters with great choices and tons of Pasta 's.Starters to the table were Wood Fired Garlic Bread with Cheese, Mac Cheese Balls and the Grilled Calamari. For our mains I ordered the Sausage Supreme others had the Margherita and the Chicken and Brie and the Pancetta Gorgonzola Rigatoni. We ordered drinks and a bottle of wine was shared but I had the Spicey Caesar which was deliciously well named. The starters came and all were good especially my Grilled Calamari. Garlic Bread very tasty and the Mac Cheese Balls were ok. A couple of folks shared the tasty Pear and Goat Cheese salad. The pizzas started to come out and we all realized we had underestimated the size of pizza and each one easily could have shared between two people. But each had a great thick border crust but thin main. Focus was on freshness and flavour, everyon agreeing they were gourmet quality. The Pancetta Gorgonzola Rigatoni was perfectly cooked and was gobbled up in a flash. Perfect big serving.Somehow a couple of the group shared a delicious slice of cheese cake. Our service was first rate. We let her know on arrival that we were going to the theatre to avoid any issues. They were courteous and efficient. Our seat was at the back with a great view of the wood oven at work. The place was full so make reservations! A classic narrow style restaurant with unique decor that has nothing to do with the Lucy I thought it was going to have. But that made no difference to our experience. Just a heads up, it is close quarters and pretty loud and fun when full. Priced right! Five Stars across the board for HEY LUCY!
During our night out on King St my partner and I passed by Hey Lucy, the vibe looked great and we made our way in. After waiting at the front door for over five minutes a server came up to us, I ask for a table or seats at the bar for two and she simply just said no . The lack of information or dialogue was disappointing, and we decided to leave. From what we saw Hey Lucy seemed to be a good time but it was not welcoming to us.
Took advantage of their Winterlicious menu it was delicious ! Food was worth the money. Fresh ingredients. The fries were overdone but I was full from the main so it wasn't a huge deal. Location was great, walkable from Front street. Will remember this restaurant for next time !
Food was meh … nachos were dry and not the best. The grilled calamari was ok. The service was fast and friendly. The place was busy.
The food at this restaurant was good, especially considering the Winterlicious price. However, our server Kara-Lee was miserable. She took our orders awkwardly and seemed overwhelmed, which made us feel uncomfortable. She brought our dessert out while we were still eating and assured us it wouldn't melt since it was a cheesecake ice cream dish. Unfortunately, the ice cream did end up melting. At the end of the meal, she took our payment without saying anything and left as if she was annoyed. I would consider going back to this restaurant, but I would definitely not want Kara-Lee as my server again.
