Bar Cru - Toronto

We had lunch with our daughters and we were delighted with the shushi plate and the the tuna bowl. The service was very nice too. Loved it!

Came here with my husband and baby for a quick dinner. We had the octopus and tuna ceviche bowls, both were delicious! The fish here is very fresh. Healthy and flavourful--highly recommend.

I'm not one to really take my chances on a restaurant in a touristy area like Market St. but when I saw Bar Cru's sign say sushi, poke, and ceviche (trifecta)! I figured I'd give it a shot.And I'm so happy I did.After giving the very well thought out menu a once over my wife and I (with baby in tow) decided to go with the okra rolls topped with tuna tartar, the tuna poke, and the shrimp ceviche with tigers milk (it's not milk).Straight up, these guys know what they're doing. Textures, flavours, everything. The okra sushi was delicious as it was creative. The poke was like a fancier version of the tuna poke my wife and I ate on our travels to Hawaii, but my personal favourite was the CEVICHE.I've been to other ceviche places in the city. You get the lime juice, seafood, whatever veg...standard stuff, and thats all well and good. But this place turns all of that on it's head and throws in some pureed sweet potato, three kinds of corn (crunch,)! quinoa, and other things that just let me understand how much thought Bar Cru puts into it's offerings. The flavour, the texture, the presentation...all of it is top shelf.Now I have to admit I have one tiny little gripe. I find the decor to be a little on the spartan side of things. But the more I think about it the less I care. They've obviously put all of their focus on the food and I'm more than ok with that. If anything the warmth and attentiveness of the staff make up for it in spades.Do yourself a favour, give Bar Cru a shot. You won't regret it!

I had a delicious and quick meal at this restaurant! The food was fresh and left me feeling satisfied and healthy. The quality of the fish was excellent and the fact that you can't even smell it when you walk in is a great sign.

I went to this restaurant for lunch with my boss. He ordered the octopus bowl, while I opted for the spicy salmon bowl.
