Max Brenner - Toowoomba

We went to Max Brenner on 10/6/22 mid-morning and had a great experience. The food was good and came out quickly, and we didn’t wait long for our coffees either. Staff was friendly and were attentive. Thanks for a lovely, experience!

This place is an absolute treat on it's own. Coffee was great, desserts were delicious and the staff were very friendly. I've been to a lot of Max Brenner cafes around Australia, and it's no surprise that this particular one produces quality food and service. I couldn't decide what I wanted so I tried the Waffles and Cigar. The waffle did have the kind of taste your expect from something that isn't freshly made right there and then, but the chocolate on top was divine. The cigar was amazing, with a super rich mousse inside. The staff were very friendly and honest about what to get. I'd always recommend a Max Brenner if you haven't been.

Chocolate. A good place to go after dinner or as movie or anytime really for something chocolatey, sweet and a drink. Staff were pleasant and our orders can out quickly. I even picked up a variety box of chocolates hand picked by me and packed for me in store.

I feel compelled to write this review because I feel so bad for the poor girl who was on her own on a busy Saturday morning, trying to take orders, makes drinks and food, and deliver orders to tables with absolutely no help. We had to wait ages to make our order and then sat for an eternity in an icy cold restaurant. When our food finally arrived, both the waffles and the crepes were stone cold… which revealed just how stale they were. Our hot chocolates came at about the 50 minute mark, after we’d already eaten as much of the food as we could stomach they were delicious and warm, a welcome respite from the freezing cold environment. We would have been in the restaurant from about 10.20am to roughly 11.30am and that entire time the girl was trying to manage everything on her own. There were at least 10 tables of people and more steadily trickling in; people at tables close to us were also commenting on how there was only one person working. It is an absolute disgrace to expect someone to work under those conditions and even if the food had not been terrible we would not return because of that.
