Meals are average. Service is acceptable. Reasonable range on the menu. Price doesn't reflect the quality.
Pulled in here on the way north for a coffee and a quick snack. A quaint old building that seemed to be a lovely old house converted into a footpath-side caféDecided on a coffee with their jam/cream donut special. While we waited for the order we walked across the road and bought a newspaper. Came back and chose a table on the footpath in front of the building. The table was covered in a gross sticky substance like spilled sugar water or something and the newspaper stuck to the table.Mentioned this fact to the girl who delivered the coffee and food and received no answer whatsoever - just a blank look. The coffee was ok and passable but the jam/cream donut was just horrid. It was a scooped out cut-in-two concoction with enough strawberry jam for 20 donuts and cream just piled everywhere.Between the two additives it totally covered and engulfed the poor donut. It was sweet and sickly and we simply couldn't eat it.They never even provided a tissue or serviette to refresh your hands from this sticky mess.To make matters worse there were cigarette butts all over the path outside the café and it seemed like it wasn't swept for days.
I was disappointed with this cafe after reading the previous reviews. Whilst it was ok - not really anything special and to to top that off my coffee didn't taste good. My partner had one of the hamburgers that she said was great, the size of which was huge.
Best homemade hamburgers! Real mincemeat pattie with of course, beetroot, lettuce, tomato & fried onion - the Tiaro Burger - on a toasted bread roll - Yum!
