I ate two of them immediately and they are great warm (I have two more saved for tomorrow so I hope I can warm them up). Wasn?t too fond of the manapua so I would just load upon more musubi in the future. The grilled garlic shrimp was very tasty, as was the BBQ combo I opted for 2 combo platter ofchicken and pork, which included a small side salad and macaroni salad. I went to pick up for takeout, it?s a small very casualspot so only a couple of people were dining in but there were lots of other takeout orders. Overall very happy to stumble onthis spot!
I was stuck working from my hotel and I didn?t want to deal with traffic so I used DoorDash for this location. Being Hawaiian, I had an expectation for what the food should taste like. I ordered the small chicken cutlet and what I received was mechanicallyseparated chicken parts mixed in with parchment paper and rubber then flattened out into a patty, breaded and fried. If thatdoesn?t sound appetizing that?s because it wasn?t. The sauce that accompanied the cutlet was a brown sauce that was absolutelydisgusting. The salad was old, hot and the mayo that was sticking to the noodles looked curdled (zoom in for a close up) ????.The best part of the meal was the Aloha sun juices that I purchased. I was super bummed.
This charming, family-owned restaurant offers a delightful atmosphere that combines Hawaiian and Asian influences. The food is unique, flavorful, and fresh, served in generous portions. The service is attentive and friendly, with staff personally delivering beautifully packaged takeout to the table. This place is undoubtedly a highlight among Thornton's local dining options.
I spent four years stationed at Pearl Harbor, and the spirit of Hawaii has stayed with me ever since. I've returned several times after my service, and Hawaiian plate lunches have become a family favorite. This place is incredible! The food is the real deal—true local cuisine. Everything we tried was top-notch, rivaling any plate lunch I enjoyed back in the Islands. We ordered several portions of Chicken Katsu, which is a family favorite for us, and I treated myself to the Loco Moco. It’s a delightful indulgence with a unique flavor, but they absolutely nailed it here. Don’t forget to order extra Macaroni Salad—it’s so delicious! Don't be put off by its modest location; this spot serves authentic, traditional Hawaiian food. It’s hands down the best plate lunch in the northern Denver area, and far more convenient than hopping on a plane to get to Hawaii!
Wow, this place is absolutely amazing and definitely worth it! The BBQ chicken is incredibly tender and juicy, and it pairs perfectly with the fluffy white rice, delicious sauce, and macaroni salad. It's incredibly satisfying, even when ordered for delivery!
