Paulie's Brick Oven Pizza - Thomasville

Was our favorite pizza place in town but they closed down shop on the 5th of June. The new owner of their building is planning a renovation. I was told that they are not reopening anywhere else.

A slightly unpleasant smell greeted us as we walked in but not so strong as to make us turn around. Nice smile from hostess but we were seated without menus and had to wait for them. The menu's were confusing. A single topping calzone was $11. A special lunch single topping calzone with drink $9. No combination topping calzones listed and each topping was $1.50. My wife got a sausage calzone that was gooey in the middle and the sausage was not very flavorful. Very much bread with cheese and not much flavor. My loaded Greek small pizza had perfectly toasted crust for me, but overall the ingredients were not flavorful. Canned sliced olives for sure. Not interested in going back again.

Always enjoy Paulies! Good is delicious and the service is great. Try the toasted ravioli and garlic knots!

If I could give them 0 stars I would. The pizza and service were equally unappealing.

Unfortunately, reviews are somehow backward, all you will see are the remains of what the BEST Large Meat Pizza and Garlic Knots once had. Many thanks to (Miss Macy) for these delicious garlic buttons. Next time I need two orders. GREAT JOB!!!!
