Spahr's Seafood Downtown Thibodaux

This place is so much better than Des Allemands Restaurant! While the catfish bites weren't great, my dinner was fantastic—a plate full of crab cakes with lemon cream sauce and hush puppies with crawfish sauce. I'm still thinking about how delicious it was and I can’t wait to return! And whatever you do, don’t skip the bread pudding with rum sauce! It was huge—enough for four people—and absolutely fabulous!

When I inquired about the lunch specials, she mentioned a dinner option for around $8.95 and highlighted a few other specials. The fish caught my interest, so I ordered the black drum fish with crust sauce. In hindsight, I should have asked for the price first, as I was a bit taken aback when my bill came to over $20. I’m not trying to be stingy; I just didn't expect it to be that much and would have chosen something more budget-friendly otherwise. That said, the service was fantastic, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was what you’d typically expect for a lunch setting. I think I might bring my wife here for dinner sometime. Although, I still have no idea what drum fish is...
