We waited for ages to get the attention of the waitress who finally showed us to a table. Then we had to wait another 10 for the menus. When we finally ordered, the garlic bread arrived quite quickly and was OK. We ordered a pasta dish and a pizza, and then the real waiting started! After about 20 mins later we received the pizza, which is ok, but then it took another 20 before my partner's pasta arrived. No exactly a good look. One person completely finished as the other starts their meal. Meals were ordinary- the seafood pizza had way too much cheese and while the pasta was a generous serving, it was a bit bland.And they squeeze so many tables in, it's not comfortable. If you're looking for a cheap eats place with limited service, this will probably fit the bill, but is certainly not an enjoyable dining experience.

Had dinner here with my husband one week night. The customer service was appalling and I can safely say I will never return. Food was below average. I don't understand how this place can still operate... the food wasn't even cheap. So many better places around! Go elsewhere!!!

Being a Novocastrian I have visited this staple in the past, my memories were much better than the reality. The service was horrendous, we were shown to our table with a pointed finger rather than being guided. Then a few minutes after we found our own way to the table it was cleaned in a hurry. Our order was taken quick enough, the garlic bread was great.We ordered the fettucine ham pasta and the meat pizza. The pizza was ok but a bit oily and about as non authentically italian as you can get (surprisingly). It was substantial but lacking in any real flavour unfortunately.The pasta was good albeit a little oily, there was plenty of it.We were told during the meal the eftpos machine was down which is fair enough. Once we were finished we asked for a takeaway container, we waited around 10 minutes and then asked another waiter for a container. Rather than bring the container over and ask how our meal was, the container was put on the counter and then I was pointed to and then pointed to the container. I guess that means the container was for me?For a small family business that has been around for quite some time I am really shocked at the level of service. Whilst the food was ok, the lack of service cannot be ignored. I have just moved in to the area and would have potentially visited every couple of weeks however I will not be back. I suggest people visiting from out of town head elsewhere if you are after italian food.If the restaurant manager reads this, work on your customer service... you have become complacent.

My family and I have dined at Arrivederci for many many years, as far back as when the original mama had it, the original papa still around the restaurant which is nice.We have had dinners for two, family dinners and dinner with friends on a nearly fortnightly basis for many years.However, we have noticed that the food quality has decreased and the prices have gone up...having said that we understand that prices go up and sometimes the quality is just not there when you are busy or have lots of orders to fill.But, over the last 5 or 6 dinners there has been no improvement, staff are lovely and as usual friendly, but the quality of the food lets them down especially for the prices charged.This is a shame as we used to love this restaurant...but no more, we will not be back with seems like losing a good friend, but far too many chances given and only based on a long time customer patronage. We hoped for better.
