Called and spoke to the manager on two consecutive days to request to see if it was possible to increase doordash mile radius, said she’ll tell the owner and call me back with whatever was decided. She never called back and nothing has been done; it’s been a week. Sincerely don’t believe she even told the owner especially since I called twice, so hopefully Ope sees this.

We tried the sample at the entrance of ChopnBlok- it was the golden bowl Hibiscus tea. OMGAHHH!!! We ordered exactly that: chicken, jollof rice, coconut curry, veggies…Fantastic!!!! We were 100% satisfied, and thought how we would love the exact same thing for dinner!! Ha!

The salad bowl was fresh, crisp and delicious. Pickled apples were particularly delightful, and the grilled chicken was just the right amount of spicy. Service was quick and friendly.

This place really surpassed my expectations for fast casual dining. I enjoyed the Motherland bowl (vegan), especially the yellow coconut curry that tied all the ingredients together perfectly. I also loved the beef patties incredibly flaky crust and well spiced meat. I will say that the food here is a bit on the pricier side BUT all the ingredients are fresh, food is well seasoned, and portions aren’t too large or too small. Don’t go in expecting it to be a “traditional” West African restaurant. Instead, it’s a restaurant that pulls from West African, Creole, and other African diasporic food traditions to create something delightful and new. Definitely will be back next time I’m in Houston.

What’s the fuss? Food bland all about location. Nothing more! I’ll go try African elsewhere authentic/flavorful. WTH?!
