We wanted to support a local family owned business but the food was very underwhelming. We ordered tofu green curry and they forgot to add tofu… they took it back for us and then put in two pieces. The curry itself was very bland and there was no coconut milk used. There was barely any curry either, it was so dry. Not at all what we expected. Service was not good. They didn’t bring us any utensils or napkins and we had to ask for them. Did not refill our water either. I wouldn’t recommend.
Authentic viet food! I've ate here maybe 6-7 times and everything I ordered was delicious. Their curry dishes are a must try and not too spicy. Highly recommend!!!
I used to really like ordering from here but it seems like they're missing all the important details from my orders these days.Aside from missed items in my orders sometimes, the one that really bothers me the most is the lack of attention to the notes (Uber Eats). I always ask for extra hoisin sauce as that's an important part of my pho experience. Not only did I not receive any extra hoisin sauce today, I just didn't even receive the standard inclusion of hoisin/hot sauce at all nothing at all. This might seem like a small issue but it literally happens during 90% of my orders and I've ordered from here at least 30 times in the last year. Never again.Do you know where I've had a great experience? The new pho place in Waterdown, Pho Viet T&T. The broth isn't as good but I'd rather get less tasty broth since they actually read notes and provide extra hoisin sauce.
On my first visit, I tried the Hue-style Beef Noodle Soup. Overall, it was quite good, with a nice broth and fresh condiments, especially an abundance of bean sprouts. My only drawback was that they used fine vermicelli noodles, similar to those found in pho, rather than the thicker noodles typically used in Hue-style soups. During my second visit, I ordered the small Vegetable Tom Yum ($4.50) and Chicken Rice ($8.50). The soup was just okay, created from pho broth, chili oil, and a hint of pineapple. However, I appreciated the addition of bean curd in it. The chicken was a deboned thigh, quite large and served like a chicken steak. I initially expected it to have some charring, but it was very well marinated and gently cooked without any char. My disappointment disappeared once I tasted it; the marinade was delicious, making the chicken succulent and garnished with fried green onions. There were surprising chunks of black pepper that reminded me of Vietnam's French colonial history. Honestly, this could easily be put on a bun to start a chicken sandwich franchise! I also asked for hot sauce and received what I believe is a house-made sriracha-style sauce, which was pretty good. Don’t let the grumpy staff deter you; give this place a chance!
