フィードバックを提供するWe started with the grilled octopus, beef tartare, and burratina appetizers. The octopus was perfectly grilled, paired with a fresh and tangy fennel and orange salad that was vibrant. My family enjoyed the presentation of the beef tartare, as we could mix in the egg yolk ourselves. And the burratina was incredibly creamy and delicious, served alongside sweet roasted beets and honeyed pumpkin seeds. I would definitely recommend these appetizers for sharing, especially for a larger group. For our main courses, we ordered a variety of dishes: lobster linguine, veal osso buco, and steak frites (8oz charred California cut striploin). The lobster linguine was cooked al dente, with generous chunks of lobster throughout. The 8oz steak was cooked to perfection and had a great char. It had minimal gristle and fat, making it very enjoyable. Unfortunately, the meal was overshadowed by the veal osso buco, which arrived cold. My brother and I were eager to dig into the large portion when it arrived, as the aromatic sauce and the silky smooth mashed potatoes looked enticing. However, we quickly discovered that the veal was cold in the center upon our first bites. And by cold, I mean cold to the touch – not warm or even room temperature. Every piece of veal was the same. Instead of offering us a new plate, our waitress asked if we wanted the dish reheated (essentially microwaved). No, thank you. We sent the veal back and opted for the steak frites, which my mom enjoyed much more. Aside from the food issues, I felt a bit uncomfortable with our waitress. She approached our table asking if we wanted drinks more times than I could count on my hand, creating an awkward pressure to order more alcohol. The restaurant was gracious enough to comp the veal, but would I return? Perhaps for the appetizers or the steak frites. Did I find it slightly overpriced? Yes, but that’s to be expected from a resort area restaurant. If I find myself in the area again, I’ll likely explore other dining options before returning here.
Haven't been here for ages and was in collingwood for the weekend stopped in in a Friday around 9pm. There was a DJ playing so it was loud. We didn't mind because then no One could hear us talking. Decor was cool high ceilings, cool lighting and interesting artwork and wallpaper. The bathrooms were dated (likely original from when they opened). For a place that's supposed to be cocktail focused the cocktails seemed lacking. Gin is very popular right now and there was maybe one gin focused cocktail. Many of them seemed like they had a lot of juices and sugary additives. I had a spicy tequila one it was pretty good. Food I had a pear and apple salad chicken. The chicken was amazing because was their buttermilk fried chicken! Service was pretty good. Price well you're in the village, so my billl for the salad and 2 drinks was $65
Absolutely Disgusted. I'm currently sitting in my hotel room with my 3 year old crying to me about a stomach ache. I decided to do a little digging and we brought back the apple juice we ordered to the hotel room. He had 3-4 sips of it but told me it was yucky and stopped drinking from the cup. I opened the cup to discover murky water with what I thought were seeds from fruit. Upon closer inspection, what I thought were seeds were actually fruit flies upwards to a dozen of them floating around the juice. This is NOT ok. This IS Negligence. I wish I had checked the cup sooner. I was advised to return tomorrow at 1 PM as the supervisor, Patti had left for the evening. I am absolutely disgusted, furious and disappointed.
Great service but food was disappointing. Mezza plate appetizer was only dish we enjoyed. Rest of the food was too salty and not favourable. Steak and chicken strips were both over cooked and salmon had no flavour. Dessert was disappointing....We had chocolate cake and crepe brûlée.
The Happy Hour menu is somewhat limited, so we decided to order a few appetizers from the main menu as well. All drinks during Happy Hour are priced at $6, which was fantastic. We shared several dishes: herb frites, warm olives, hummus with naan, buttermilk chicken sliders, fried Brussels sprouts, and calamari. Everything was delicious, with the Brussels sprouts standing out as particularly tasty. If I were to return for Happy Hour, I would skip the hummus and naan, as well as the warm olives, but I would definitely order the herb frites again. I don't eat meat, but my companions thought the sliders were great. Our server was friendly and attentive, checking in to ensure we were having a good time. Although I haven't tried many places in the village to draw a comparison, we had an enjoyable experience at Twist.
