Great food!Seating is brief, don’t mind tho.Great food!
I missed this restaurant when it closed its Rowland Heights store. When I learned it reopened, I couldn't wait to have the yummy food again.Restaurant Environment:To my surprise, the new store (with the same name) was so much smaller than the original. It has lost all its past glory. Only the owners (husband and wife) work at the restaurant. Food was still made fresh after you ordered them, so it took a bit for me to receive my food. It was 90 degrees outside, the restaurant's door was open and no A/C on, just fans running. The utensils and cups/small bowls were all styrofoam/disposable ones.Went during lunch on a Friday, the place was empty. Two other came in after I did. That was all. It looks like this store is more geared towards online/app orders.FOOD:I ordered dumplings. The skin was a bit thicker than I remembered it, and the size was just a bit bitter than before. It used to be easy bite sized, now I had to really open my mouth to fit the entire dumpling. The lamb dumplings were saltier than I remembered. The pork ones were just fine. The new location only has limited items on its menu, missing quite a few things from its old menu, but you can still order those frozen to go even if not available for dine-in.STAFF:The owners were friendly but they were quite busy because they had to do everything, from cashier to waiters, to kitchen staff.Takeaway:I don't think I'll be back during the summer. It was seriously too hot to eat.
The freshly-made pork and chives dumplings were a limited sampling, but more than good enough to inspire a return visit in the future to try more menu items. The pork-to-chives ratio was perfect.
Average price with good quality of food. I'm from north China and always been craving for fennel dumplings after moving to LA coz it's really hard to find it here. This place makes really tasty fennel dumplings which reminds me of my hometown, and the fennel itself tastes really fresh which is a plus. Definitely gonna be back to try the other dumplings and buns.
