Monterey's Little Mexico - Temple

I visited this fantastic mid-sized restaurant located in town near the main loop. I ordered the fish tacos and they were absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this place over the average restaurant next door. It has a cozy and intimate atmosphere, unlike the dark and loud ambiance next door. The hostess and server were very friendly as well.

I was so happy to see this place survived the Pandemic. I frequented this place 20 years ago when I worked in Temple. Spinach enchiladas are my favorite. They're creamy and flavorful...just as good as I remembered. The atmosphere is festive (fiestive? .The staff is friendly and attentive. Do yourself a favor and order the iced tea to drink.

It was good, big party of 13, they handled it fine. Food came out steady, plenty of chips and salsa. Nice for big groups.

The meal I was served at this restaurant is entirely unacceptable. I ordered the spinach enchiladas through Favor. I had the same dish a week ago and it was excellent. However, today it is simply revolting. The tortillas are filled with an excessive amount of spinach and tomatoes, topped with large dollops of sour cream and cheese. Disappointing! I have included a picture below. Sadly, I doubt I will ever order from here again. It was delicious the first time, but this experience is not acceptable.

The carne asada was outstanding, and the waitress was extremely friendly. The decor is authentic and the food was some of the best I have had in a while, I did not leave a single bite on my plate!
