Ordered chilli momos which were great. Then had tandoori masala chicken and garlic naan, and food was flavorful without being too spicy. Also had the chicken biryani which was spiced just right. Had the mango mastani which is a creamy mango puree drink with nuts and scoop of ice cream. All in all, foodwas tasty and yes spicy, which is how indian food is meant to be. It is located in college town so dont expect a phenomenal sit down fine dining experience.
Came here because it was convenient and 1 of the people with me said they were good. The place was empty but they peaked through the pick-up window and said they were open. I guess you usually order at the counter but I was with a wheelchair-user and we went straight to a table. The counter was high, by the way. They bought us a menu...after we asked. It was hard to tell what we wanted so I asked what they had with chicken and veggies. They asked if I wanted ricewith it and that was fine but I was Very Clear that I cannot do spicy. The other person I was with wanted the same dish and was also very clear that they didn't want Any spice. The person who recommended this place asked for basicnoodles. They asked if we were going to pay then or later. While we waited, I went ahead and paid but should have waited. After a bit they came out and said that they don't have noodles. She ended up ordering a version of what we had, which was not what we expected. It was A lot of rice, the only vegetables were garnish and onions (which we picked off as it made the dish even More spicy). I had asked if the chicken was grilled and they said it was stir fried. All I knowis that the chicken was breaded in some kind spicy something. At one point, a man came and asked how we were doing and I said it was spicy...but I'd try to handle it. I wish I'd asked for something else but after reading other reviews (abit too late) I wish we'd chosen somewhere else. I ended up eating only a small amount of the meal so am now in search of another option. So looking at reviews over convenience!!
Edit: The morning after the owner called me to sincerely apologize about what happened last night saying they felt awful and offered to make me some of his new vegetarian dishes as an apology for what happened. He talked to the cook who also apologized for the mistake. He even gave me his direct line. The owner was VERY kind and I appreciate how seriously he took the issue. PREVIOUS REVIEW: I ordered my food meatless with paneer and they fed me MEAT!!!!! no paneer.Horrible place, they don?t care about what they feed their customers. Don?t come here if you?re vegetarian.
Best taste and quality !!! Visiting this restaurant since 2020. Owner takes pride in his work. Truly amazing experience. Kind and generous staff.
First of all I’m quite regular at this place for Indo-Chinese food and my experience has been mixed but mostly good. Here’s my rating on all the menu items which I’ve tried at Chutney Express(1) Veg or Burn Garlic Fried (2) Crispy Honey Chilli Potato: 3.5/5(3) Chicken Lolipop: 3.5/5 but atleast 2-3 times I did not receive fresh chicken with a weird taste so I stopped ordering this item.(4) Pan Fried Chilli It’s the best on their menu(5) Chicken (my only recommendation make 5 pieces instead of 3)(6) Cruncy/Afghan Momo: 2.5/5(7) Manchurian Momo: 3.5/5(8) Butter/ Chicken Tikka (9) Paneer Tikka Con; They don’t give complimentary rice with the curry which is given at all other places and due to limited space they don’t have the setup to make in-house fresh naan)(10) Thai (11) Biryani: This is quite inconsistent over the time. My go-to is Chicken 65 Biryani. Before the Chef Change in 2022: 4.5/5After Chef Change in early 2023: 2.5/5 (I’ve discussed about it with the owner. He recommended to try it again as they gone back to their old style of Biryani preparation)My last try after the owner (sadly). It’s no longer the same and actually gone down further.Try Bawarchi Biryani for Biryanis (They are among the best- goat and vijaywada chicken biryani)I’ve tried the goat biryani at Chutney as (Owner recommended: they say it’s fresh Baby Goat, but the quantity was far too less as compared to the Chicken 65 biryani, and the taste was average)(12) Mango but a little priceyOverall Rating: 2.5/5Indo
