We had to wait a while on the hostess when the staff went past and never said a word, then what seemed like five minutes, they asked how many in our party, I told them we had a reservation, but they did not seem to care. The restaurant was not busy, but still took about four minutes to make the table ready for us. The food was fine, but it just came as if we were a burden for the staff.
One of the worst places I have eaten in. Terrible service, terrible drinks and terrible food. On an evening when every other restaurant in town was packed, this place was empty. Although we made a reservation, the waiter said none was required (obviously and showed no interest (or aptitude ? in checking us in for OpenTable.
Most restaurants in Telluride are geared for high-end ski tourists or strictly local, but RBG has a broader appeal with a moderate price point. In the building of the former Hongas, RBG is not a Hongas Wanna-be, but instead it is very much its own place. The decor is fantastic. The walls are covered with Telluride memorabilia , but the styling is upscale modern-mountain. With seating in three distinct areas, both upstairs and down, the vibe is lively but the noise not overpowering. We could comfortably have a conversation. The menu is relatively small, but offers several vegetarian options as well as burgers, salads and more fine dining options, such as grilled salmon, which we all enjoyed. We will definitely return.
Sat at the bar and Robert was taking care of us. He made amazing drinks for us. You MUST try one of his specials. The food was served quickly and was cooked perfectly. I will be back!
