I live very close so I always go here, they have changed management or owners recently and the restaurant itself got a much needed facelift I think!...
Their New York location was better. You can definitely taste the effects of inflation, but it's still fantastic. The conveyor belt keeps your attention as delicious plates of sushi rotate around the chefs. My favorite dish here is the spicy scallop (see pic). At just $2.75 a plate, you won't find a deal like this anywhere else, especially not at this price. The regular scallop a la carte for $6 isn't worth it; I've had fresher options. The waitstaff is very attentive and friendly.
East Japanese Restaurant is a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. They also have other Japanese foods, but I haven't tried yet. The concept of the Sushi conveyor belt is that small portions of different sushi species sprinkle around the conveyor belt, where you can grasp what you want. The plates are encoded at the price. It is a fun concept and you can try out different types of sushi that are the most important stimuli of the type of restaurant. I would say the actual sushi is not the greatest, but it is good and you get a good variety. They serve alcohol which is cheap. The service is good and attentive. Tea cups are filled in a regular interval and the servers are very nice. Overall, East Japanese is a fun place. But they pay something for the novelty in price and freshness.
Sitting in Sushi Carousel recommend, If you have a few drinks and not in the mood for Saki, try some of their imported Japanese beer!
