El Patron Mexican - Taylors

First Mexican restaurant in South Carolina and there is no doubt as to why it keeps going. Never fails to impress. Great food. Great service, Great prices. What more could you ask for?

With my sister in Taylors, SC, one day we drove through the old house of my aunt. Much to my surprise, El Matador Mexican Restaurant takes this room now. Well, of course I had to go there for dinner, and I'm so glad I left. It was a bit like entering the past, as I could remember where everything was once and at the same time how everything had changed. A so pleasant culinary experience! The food was delicious and our service was fantastic. With a group of people who ordered all different things, I could taste many dishes. Everything I tried, Tacos, Chimichangas, Steak, Enchiladas and Fajitas was delicious. Will definitely be revisited.

We've been going to El Matador since I remember, and we've never been disappointed. Customer service and food were always top notch. Very recommend the Chile Rellenos, the best!

What a fantastic experience! This is the best Tex-Mex food I've had in Greenville to date. It truly felt like I was back in Texas! The salsa is homemade and fresh, the meat is perfectly seasoned, and the margaritas are simply delicious, all enjoyed in a warm and inviting atmosphere. David, the owner of this family establishment, is a genuinely nice guy. I will definitely return!

We absolutely adore this restaurant! My parents used to take me here in the 70s when I was a kid, and it has been a staple for us ever since. They have the best flan around! The owner always takes the time to chat with us whenever we visit. It's been 53 years and still going strong. The owner is truly honoring his father's legacy. The food is authentic Mexican, but it's American-owned and operated.
