The Rising Sun - Taunton

One of those places where I wish I could forgive 6 stars. beautiful, welcoming pub, super friendly and helpful staff, beautiful fire in winter and to distribute it from eating is amazing. it is obvious that much care and attention has gone to the whole menu.

We had a fabulous meal here last Saturday. The food is Michelin star quality at a very reasonable price, the venue is a wonderfully atmospheric beamed pub/restaurant and the service is perfect the very kind waitress even brought dog biscuits and a blanket for my terrier to lie on. We have already booked to go back soon...

We went here a couple of weeks ago to celebrate my Mums birthday. Thank you for an amazing lunch and for managing such a large group so well. We had a great time delicious food, great service and lovely atmosphere. All the best

From the log fire in the lounge and the warm welcome to the outstanding food everything was a pleasure for the eyes and the pallet, a delicious menu and wine list to match for all budgets. Amazing roast and brilliant choice of sparkling, gins, beers and ciders on draught. Beautiful on all accounts we can’t wait to come back!

A fantastic evening at The Rising Sun. The food was absolutely outstanding, could not fault it at all. The staff were utterly charming, so attentive and helpful, they also make a fantastic Margarita! My only issue was the dogs. Totally understand dog friendly pubs, especially during the day after a long walk, popping in for a drink and a sandwich with the dog sleeping at your feet… but I do struggling with dogs in a restaurant atmosphere in the evening. I suffer from a severe dog allergy, the staff were kind and move us as the table next to us had their 2 dogs with them. I just feel that in an eating/restaurant all dressed up for dinner at restaurant prices, maybe dogs at the table in the evening is not ideal.
