Bumbles Coffee Lounge - Taunton Deane

I decided to check out this restaurant after hearing about the renovations and new management. The cafe is now much brighter and livelier, with wood paneling replacing the old burgundy decor. The staff were welcoming and enthusiastic, and I ordered a cappuccino with two soft cookies on the side. There were plenty of tables to choose from, as well as some stools along the window bench. There were also tables outside, complete with a water bowl for dogs. The coffee was quite good, ranking as a close second in town. The cookies were delicious, better than what I've had at other places. The prices were comparable to other restaurants in town. My only critique would be the choice and volume of the music playing, which was a bit too energetic and made conversation difficult. The staff had to raise their voices to be heard over the music, giving the cafe a noisy pub-like atmosphere. Overall, I think the cafe is worth another visit, maybe for a late breakfast next time.

I went to Bumbles after an appointment in town, this time just for coffee. I have been there before and can say that the food is excellent. Even though I know they do amazing sandwiches, the chef behind the counter changed my salad and did a great job. However, on this visit, my friend and I were shocked and upset by the attitude of the owner and his female staff member. They have renovated the downstairs area and it looks amazing with the new color scheme, artwork, and little touches. The staff apologized for the wait for food, even though we were only having coffee. The music was too loud for my liking, but they said they could turn it down. I mentioned that the toilets needed updating as the toilet rolls were on the floor and the soap dispenser was broken. The young lady took offense and began to criticize the previous owners, whom I have known for 8 years. The owner came downstairs and aggressively accused me of criticizing everything they had done in the cafe, although that was not the case. We felt embarrassed and decided to leave. It's unfortunate because I had complimented them on the changes before, but it is not right to slander previous owners and accuse them of lying. Unfortunately, I will not be supporting this local business anymore.

My wife and I visited Bumbles for the first time since it changed owners. We were both very impressed with the restaurant, which was also very busy. The coffee was lovely and from observing the food being served around us, the portions were generous and the presentation was excellent. The service was great and the place was immaculately clean. Thank you.

The recent overhaul to the decor is fab. A cool and relaxing atmosphere with Paris and Reese being fab hosts. The sandwiches are amazing. I had the New Yorker (pastrami, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, pickles, etc) which was immense and served with a wonderful salad. Partner had the farmer (cheese and ham) and was also served with the same salad. Coffee tasty and fresh. Great place to meet and eat. Dog friendly as well which went down very well with our Sprocker!

I believe this place has new owners because the food is now on another level. I ordered a simple jacket spud and I’ve got to say the presentation and side salad plus the quality of ingredients was brilliant. Best spud I’ve ever had. Highly recommended place to eat- massive Respect to these new owners
