フィードバックを提供するEver since we moved to Tarpon Springs, I've been looking forward to trying out this restaurant and I'm so happy we finally did. Our waitress, Bree, was not only attentive and humorous but also made sure our drinks were never empty. Her dinner recommendations were spot on and my husband loved his fish tacos while I thoroughly enjoyed my blackened shrimp. The manager even stopped by our table to check in on us, chat about the area, and make us feel welcome. It was definitely a successful evening, and let's not forget to mention the delicious fried cheesecake - yum, yum!
However, they had to deal with a tough crowd that day. Coming from Wisconsin where everyone is friendly and chatty, I noticed that many of the patrons there were not as warm. It made me feel sorry for the staff and the band performing that night. I do wish that some of the dishes had larger portions, like the fish and chips, and I found that the prices were a bit above average. $10 for smoked fish spread seemed a bit expensive to me. However, considering the prime real estate location and the number of staff on hand, I understand the pricing. Despite this, the food came out quickly and was piping hot, and the seafood was fresh. We will definitely be returning! God bless!
This is one of our favorite spots to relax on a Sunday afternoon. The food is decent, although not outstanding. The service could use some improvement, but it's a fantastic place to enjoy the local atmosphere and bring along your furry friends. During the summer, arrive early on Sundays to try out their delicious BBQ.
A Great Casual Dining Experience. Located just across the river from the main touristy shopping district in Tarpon Springs, Captain Jack's is offers generally good food in a casual outdoor atmosphere. Entering through the parking lot, there are photo ops with a huge shark and a 5 foot lobster. A little further brings you to the tiki bar and huge open-air dining room overlooking a marina and Dodecanese Blvd.<br/ <br/ We've only been for lunch. They weren't busy today, and our service was good. Pleasant waitresses and waiters were in abundance, but not hovering.<br/ <br/ I can personally recommend their burgers. They're big and juicy. Also, the quesadilla was filled with big chunks of blackened chicken and fresh tomatoes with sides of smooth guacamole and sour cream. The grilled shrimp and scallops offer a welcome change from all the fried foods available everywhere. But, not to go overboard on health food, get the onion rings... and the homemade potato chips. Both are excellent. I recommend a pass on the rib eye steak sandwich, though. The meat was fatty and gristly and thrown onto a soggy roll. Served in a plastic basket under my mountain of onion rings, it was next to impossible to complete the trimming that should have been done in the kitchen.<br/ <br/ But, it wasn't so bad that I won't be back. The ambience and generally good food make up for one questionable entrée.
Captain Jacks. We are regulars at Capt. Jacks on a Friday evening after work and we usually have a crowd with us, but it seems like we are always looking for a sever and waiting on our liquid beverages, also beers should be keep on ice because you are so busy and with those refrigerators always opening and closing the beer just does not get cold enough and on a really hot night it's warm in 15 minutes. We have also tried eating at 11pm and have been told the kitchen is closing, not good when you have been drinking and need something in your stomach. Matt is great daquari maker, Tim, Mngr. and of course Mike the owner are awsome. The female Mngr. needs to get the chip off her shoulder. And Capt. Jack the kitty is a touch and I hope no one ruins that !! Food is great we go for lunch on Saturday and your new menu has a great selection. Thanks, See ya next Friday
