Marea Al Fresco Dining - Tangnan

The Bellevue is pretty much isolated. There are no stones-throw-away dining options but the ones they provide within the resort. Fortunately, this resort has Marea. We were very happy with what we ordered (halang halang and sisig). The portions were generous, the soup of the halang halang was very flavorful!

Marea Al Fresco at Bellevue Hotel is truly a gastronomic experience. It was the first day of a family reunion and relatives arrived from Tacloban, Leyte, Cebu City, Manila and from Texas, USA. After checking in at Bellevue Hotel, we met at Marea and ordered lunch ............Fish Tinola, Lechon Kawali, Beef Steak, Noodles. The food were all delicious and cooked the Visayan way. Amidst pleasantries, laughter, catching up stories, the various family members bonded and it seems that the distance and the long time of not seeing each other seems to vanish. We are all one family and sharing good food in a very nice ambiance is so relaxing and truly refreshing. The interiors of Marea is made of so environmentally friendly. All native materials...a triangular roof made from cogon grass, wooden planks and simple tables. One can feel the cool breeze from the sea despite the blazing sun. There are no walls and you can see the breathless view of the white sand beach amidst the blue skies.

Pizzas were big, thin crusted, crispy, and very tasty. Cheese was maybe not the best quality, but there were plenty of toppings.Crispy snapper was indeed crispy and flavorful in a tomato egg sauce that went very well with rice.Crispy noodles with seafood were delish! Felt like it came straight from hong kong. Cocktails and alcoholic shakes need some work as they were bland and un-inspiring.

Its not hard to find vegetarian options in the Philippines although options are limited. Same is the case at Marea restaurant. I stayed in the hotel for 2 days and almost tried all the veg,options available which included pizza, pasta and a local Filipino preparation. The food was decent. The desert were ok. Nothing great. The reason for giving it a 4 star rating is due to its impeccable service by the waiting staff. You can enjoy all the experiences of fine dining in Marea.

Menu has a wide selection and everything we ordered was available and tasty. Desserts were a bit disappointing though.
