The James Joyce Irish Pub - Tampa

You don 't really need reservations as it 's a sit where you want type of place so I was confused and slightly embarrassed when I walked I 'm and asked the bartender what was up. However, the food was amazing, there are a ton of beer choices, and the server was the cutest thing (male) I just wanted to put him in my pocket and take him home. Only because it 's not really a reservation type of place do I give it less than five stars because the food was awesome, way better than I expected. My husband asked me to add that they didn 't have potato soup, and what kind of Irish pub has no potato soup? Ha but he loved his dinner.

Very energetic place. Not used to that, but a lot of young college folks were there. Live music was cool and the bar staff were very nice. Chris is the man!

Was in the mood for Irish: saw the shepherd pie and was set; until I saw the filet and crab legs! Irish who?! The filet was perfect, crab was fresh and I'll be going back! Gotta try that pie!

I recently visited the James Joyce Irish Pub for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and fun, the food was decent, and the bathroom was clean. I would return for the drinks more than the food, but overall I had a good experience and would come back again.

Ever since I moved to Ybor, I have found JJ to be my go-to spot for a good time! When I first walked in to try their food and beer, Brandon welcomed me with the friendliest service. He gave us tips on the best things to try in the neighborhood since we were new. I've always had a fondness for Irish pubs, especially ones in older, darker buildings like JJ. The wings are definitely my favorite here, and those tater tots are amazing! There are always fun events going on, like live music, karaoke, ladies night, $1 tacos on Tuesdays, unconventional Bingo, and Trivia nights. The staff, including Rene, Katie, Cady, Chris, Gabe, Marko, Chance, Natasha, Jason, Nick, Brandon (the one who welcomed me), and Janice, make me feel like I'm visiting family every time I come in. The regulars here are also great, creating a special bond that makes it a beautiful experience every time. JJ has so much to offer, so if you haven't been yet, you're missing out! It's been a big part of why I love living in the area. If you enjoy having fun, this is the place to be. JJ will always hold a special place in my heart.
