4 Rivers Smokehouse - Tampa

Just another disappointing take out expereince. We stopped taking out from 4R a few years ago because inevitably every order would be wrong. Wrong meat, wrong sides, missing items. We gave up. We tried agian tonight and true to form they screwed up the order once again. You can 't call the store directly and that is propbaly for a reason. Spent 20 minutes driving to the store, asked the lady if she was sure everything was in the bag, Yessir! , even went over the receipt with her. And you guessed it. The order was short. Try getting a human on the phone and then realizing they are 100 miles away in a cubicle and not even in the store. Then being asked do you want to drive back? No thank you. Good luck 4R. We 're done.

Good BBQ. We usually order out, but dining if is great also. I prefer their beef. The Six shooter is fantastic and worth trying. They also have bread pudding that is worth the calories.

Ribs were cold, mac and cheese was super dry and dinner roll was stale and cold. They are extremely stingy with the portions across the board, especially for what they’re charging. I also think it’s beyond petty to be asking for tips, let alone 18% for counter service when I have to do all the work and with what they charge. Perhaps they can just pay their employees better and practice what they preach.

We were in town from Louisville, Kentucky and I’d order my husband and I some food through Uber Eats; because he loved BBQ and I was vegan and they had a vegan option which is very rare at barbecue restaurants! When our order was delivered my meal was not included and the restaurant was closed. So I called their customer service line and make a complaint at which time they told me that my name would be recorded and I could receive my order free the next day. So the next day my husband and I went to 4 Rivers Smokehouse on MacGill and the manager and staff were awesome everyone was very understanding and friendly! The manager provided my meal for free as well as my husband’s! So glad we came in the food was EXCELLENT!!!! The atmosphere smelled amazing ? and was cozy, clean and welcoming! There was a hostess that was one of the kindest ladies I’ve ever met and the manager Steve was very nice and hospitable! Any time we’re in Tampa we will surely be back! This place is a must try if you love BBQ and kind people! Even if you’re Vegan ?Vegetarian options: They offered a delicious vegan brisket meal or sandwich!

Brisket, burnt ends, turkey, chicken and sausage were all excellent.Fries were crinkle cut and crispy.Loaded potato was huge.Slaw had the slightest hint of heat.Burnt ends (pork brisket mixed) were untraditional in that they were almost shredded pieces but good.Ribs were subpar from our experience.Mac n cheese had a watered down flavor.Prices were competitive.Counter service made for quick service. Cheerwine at fountain for the win.Service was friendly and quick. We'd definitely go back.
