フィードバックを提供するWe enjoyed the adobo flakes, lomi, barako coffee, and homemade ice cream at this restaurant! The prices are very reasonable, making it a great alternative to fast food. It's a convenient stopover on the way to Laiya or back home to Manila.
We ate our lunch here after enjoying our overnight stay at a beach resort nearby. We enjoyed the decorations inside the restaurant and the paintings on the wall. There is this table that is really cute that is originally an old sewing machine turned into...a table. The food came out after like 10-15mins. As we were like 12 who ordered so we thought it was reasonable for them to be able to prepare it that long. Desserts came after we finish our meal and it was awesome! It was a very hot afternoon and it was very cold inside(but tolerable and good temperature for eating) so we were able to eat well. Highly recommend!
The only reason this place exists is due to it's prime location along the road to your Batangas resort. The Good: It's reasonably clean, has paintings to look at, and some neat antique Singer sewing machines at the tables for some reason. Your aunt from California had some photos of a cafe she liked and tried it here. The Bad: Anyone who's spent any amount of real time in the Philippines knows that roughly 25% of menu items are out of stock. And when they screw up, there's rarely an apology or compensation forthcoming. MOST restaurants try to tell you right away when they're walang whatever. This joint, however, lets you wait 45 minutes before they tell you there's no lettuce for your salad (as they hand out the meals of the others in your party). They also can't be bothered to serve your drinks until the rest of the meal arrives. I've never understood that. Dear Mgmt- Bring out drinks right away while we wait. Customers often purchase refills! Crazy, right?! The OK: Their Grilled Cheese sandwich was DEFINITELY a grilled cheese sandwich. I mean, no way was there more than one whole slice of cheese in there, but I'm positive cheese was involved. They've got 4 iced teas that shouldn't upset anyone. They have coffee, of course. Their chicken mushroom salpicao was a tad salty. The beef tapa and the dessert tamales have not caused explosive diharrea.Cafeno presents like an elementary school kid who's *possibly* bright, but certainly lazy about attention-to-detail at the science fair. You can tell little Juan put forth effort, but at the same time he stenciled "DO PALNTS NEED SOYL?" in giant letters for his display. Indoors- the art at a glace is aesthetically pleasing. Scenes of farms and nature. Look closer and you notice the women carrying wheat have impossibly short arms and the hibiscus flower only has four leaves. Awww.
We had an early lunch at Cafeno on a Monday. Here's what we ate: Tapa - average Coffee - good Tamales - average Chocolate cake - good Dalandan juice - average Interiors: unique Ambiance: relaxing (even if it's right beside a busy road)
Old sewing machines serving as tables, nice interiors, tasty desserts and local coffee including cappuccino and espresso...what more does the traveler crave for?
