Good homemade food, really reasonable prices. Ordered the biggest burger they had, double patties and bacon, order amount was under $15. It is worth waiting for a few extra minutes.
While some may see the nostalgic charm of this old diner, I found it to be in desperate need of a thorough update and cleaning. This place can't seem to decide if it's a café or a poorly stocked Filipino convenience store, and it fails at both. The positives: the service is attentive and friendly, and the coffee is good. However, the Hamburg Steak breakfast was a disappointment. The meat was tough and unappetizing, even drowning it in ketchup couldn't help. The potatoes were bland and tasteless, and the toast came with just a tiny container of jam. I suggest looking elsewhere for a meal in Taber, as this place is not worth the visit.
As we walked up to the entrance, it appeared quite unclean. The restaurant did not seem to prioritize cleanliness, which is important to me when dining out. While I appreciate both old and new cafes, I also value a pleasant atmosphere, which was lacking here. In the interest of fairness, I must disclose that I did not sample the food.
To this little Lil-gend it went in and was greeted with a smile and this little town charm. Breakfast was amazing. Will definitely come back if I ever get away like this. The eggs were perfect. The Hasch-Brauen were to die and the bacon... oh the bacon...heaven.
