I ordered yellowtail nigiri, but what I got definitely wasn’t yellowtail and had a strange taste. 4. The tempura shrimp was just okay. 5. The sweet shrimp didn’t taste sweet at all and looked completely different from what I’ve had before. 6. I paid $43 for mediocre sushi, and the prices at the entrance didn’t match what was on the menu. 7. The roll I ordered was acceptable, but the wasabi tasted old and the ginger had a weird flavor. I was really hungry and regretted not checking the reviews before choosing this place. I should have just opted for the wrong soup instead.
We ended up at Sushi House by chance, because the restaurant we had intended to eat at was closed... but with their great selection of sushi and made to order noodle bowls, we definitely weren't disappointed! The sushi was the best we've had in Central New York and the ramen was served piping hot, exactly to our specifications! The staff was friendly and made sure everything was exactly the way we ordered it substitutions and all! If you're in Syracuse and looking for excellent sushi and or ramen try Sushi House. You won't be disappointed!
Y'all got me messed up. I am a vegetarian and i love me my vegetable rolls. the sushi was sub par. very much wegmans vibes. actually wegmans is better. i also decided to partake in the dumplings. gosh i love dumplings BUT they had crab in them even though they said vegetable. huh??!? make it make sense. i ate meat for the first time in a year eating a VEGETABLE dumpling. y'all what.
Excellent service, great food. Hot tea and miso soup to defrost on a cold day was a good start before the bento box. Fresh ingredients and pleasant presentation too!
Really great sushi. Some of the better sushi in the area. But we won't be back and here's why. The service? Almost nonexistent. Nearly 2 hours for 4 people with only one other table when we walked in a little before 6 pm on a Tuesday night. Waters alone took nearly 20 mins and then another 15 before she came back for our order. Generally speaking, slow service understaffed is one thing. And it's a pandemic I worked in the restaurant business so I get it but this was more a case of disinterested server taking one thing at a time to the table to go boxes, checks, one water glass at a time, etc . And then the menu pricing...beware and check your bill. Every single item on our bill was rung for more than what was listed on the menu, some as much as 3 more than listed on the menu, with zero concern or willingness to change to the menu price.
