Their half-sized grilled cheese features a remarkable four full slices of cheese. Each sandwich is made to order, which does slow down the service a bit. They also offer daily specials, so you might be lucky enough to get a complimentary bag of chips on Tuesday, like we did, or enjoy a different deal. There are several booths in the back for indoor dining, as well as picnic tables on the porch for those who prefer to eat outside. I particularly enjoyed the Reuben sandwich and the iced coffee; both were excellent. The menu could use a bit more description, whether on the display menu, the printed menu, or the online version (though nutritional information is available on the website). So, if you’re unfamiliar with a Reuben or a club sandwich, don’t hesitate to ask. Additionally, gas prices here are comparable to those at nearby places.
I visited the Thompson Road location to grab a steak and cheese, but they were out of steak. No problem; they suggested roast beef instead, so I went with that. I also ordered a salad, mozzarella sticks, and chicken tenders. Although I said yes when asked if I wanted sauce for the tenders, they didn't include any, though there was marinara available. Not a huge deal, but I ended up spending $27 on these four gas station items, which felt a bit excessive. I was informed that the sandwich would be discounted since they didn't have steak, but when I got home, the roast beef clearly had gone bad—it tasted terrible, was gray, and smelled off. I had to throw it away. When I called to report this, I received no apology or offer for a replacement, just a comment that they slice the meat every night.
The restaurant offers a great selection of dairy products, freshly prepared food, and beverages. Their breakfast pizza slices are quite filling, and the chicken tenders are outstanding!
Rude cashier and no selection of prepared breakfast food at 9am in a high traffic area. I've been in Byrne Dairy all over the region and this one is lousy compared to the others.
The sandwiches here are hearty and made with double bread, packed with quality meat and toppings. The grilled cheese is particularly generous, featuring four full slices of cheese on a half sandwich. Each sandwich is made fresh to order, which does slow down service a bit. They offer daily specials, such as a bonus bag of chips on Tuesdays, so keep an eye out for those. There are several cozy booths at the back for dining in, as well as picnic tables on the porch for outdoor seating. I really enjoyed the Reuben sandwich and the iced coffee. The menu is straightforward, available on a display screen, in print, and online, although nutritional information can be found on their website. If you're unfamiliar with what a Reuben or a club sandwich is, be sure to ask for clarification. Also, gas prices are reasonable nearby.
