Balsam Mountain Inn - Sylva

I only visited the bar, but the staff was very nice and the service was good. I liked the charm in what I saw of the old inn.

A truly nostalgic spot. I had a great time sipping coffee and listening to music on the porch.

Great atmosphere, very quaint old hotel with so much history. Staff was very friendly, so relaxing to sit on the front porch. Only criticism is that it would be nice to have some pastries with the morning coffee. Wish the owners luck with their renovations.

I can't comment on the rooms or service since I haven't stayed there, but I have attended a couple of music performances at the venue, and they were outstanding! My only small drawback is that the chairs can be a bit uncomfortable for extended periods. I appreciate that the owners are putting in a lot of effort to improve the inn, and I commend them for it. So the seating issue is just a minor concern.

I rated it 3 stars since it's currently closed for renovations under new ownership. We used to visit frequently years ago and absolutely loved the restaurant. While we never stayed there, we often dined at the restaurant and enjoyed the beautiful, peaceful atmosphere. I really hope the new owners can revitalize it once again.
