Great beer selection with staff who are really helpful. Tried a few beers, met with the local cat and had the wings and nachos. Great food and beer

I like to think of the Quarrymans Hotel as a bit of a hidden gem. The only reason I know about it is because a good friend of mine lives in Pyrmont and this is his local. It’s located very close to the CBD, but out enough that most visitors wouldn’t stumble across it if they weren’t looking.

While the outward facelift hadn’t attracted my attention, the steampunk interior of this Pyrmont stalwart certainly made me smile. From a boilerplate bar, to repurposed materials like cracked leather stools and a railway signboard listing their two dozen on-tap craft brews, it was hard to take it all in!

I dined at another pub recently Mine, the upstairs (level one) bistro at Pyrmont's Quarrymans Hotel. The hotel is a family run, unrestored pub that has a certain charm and honesty. The quiet upstairs bistro is spacious and full of comfy red banquettes;
