The Bavarian York St - Sydney (NSW)

The restaurant has been around for a long time, they do meals really well, their pork schnitzel is tender and tasty, portions are large, beer is always good and service was prompt and friendly. Being Friday evening, the restaurant was very busy hence noise levels were very high.

The food was good and the atmosphere was lively. The only disappointment was being told twice not to stand, which was frustrating as we were simply standing near our table.

My partner and I had dinner at this restaurant during the week. We started with the Mac and cheese balls, which were deliciously gooey, crispy, and cheesy. The pretzel we shared as an appetizer with butter was a must-try. For our main course, we ordered the bbq meat platter for two. Although the food on the platter was good, it could have used more sauce and been cooked a bit better. Overall, it was a pretty good meal for a sports bar.

Extremely disappointed. The service was unsatisfactory. We ordered drinks which didn’t arrive, reordered and took 20 minutes to arrive. Service was pathetic. Slow, didn’t feel welcomed. When went to pay bill there was no discount applies from the fork booking. I had to show phone and prove the booking. They made me embarrassed in front of client.

The food was fantastic and the service was very friendly. The restaurant was busy for a Monday night, but we definitely plan on returning.
