Toby Carvery Friary - Swindon

Despite making a reservation, we had to wait about 10 minutes upon arrival. Then, we stood in a waiting queue very close to us for an additional 30 minutes just to get a carvery, which I really don't understand, especially since I had made a booking.

I had a great dining experience—the bark melted in my mouth! The staff was very attentive and accommodating. If I had to voice a complaint, it would be that the restaurant was a bit warm, but it didn't take away from the overall meal.

I was disappointed with my recent experience at this restaurant. I had specifically booked a table near the carvery because my mother, who is over 80, cannot walk far and needed a comfortable spot. Instead, I was seated near the entrance, which was too far for her to manage, so I ended up having to fetch both of our meals. I expressed my dissatisfaction to a young staff member, who informed me that the restaurant was fully booked and offered no alternatives. I noticed her speaking to someone who appeared to be the manager, but he didn’t come to check on us. We visit this restaurant frequently, so we were quite disappointed with how we were treated, especially considering how hard my mother tried to come out. It took some time for someone to notice we were waiting for drinks, but when the waitress did come by, she was very pleasant and checked on us after we finished our meal.

The restaurant, was pleasantly decorated very clean, the service was welcoming with a smile very polite, the menu was well set out and fairly priced, the food was well laid out, very tasty cooked to a delight, all the staff were also well organised, we will be calling back to this little treasure in Swindon.

We went to Toby Carvery last Thursday and didn’t realise you have to book a table , so we couldn’t eat there , so booked for this afternoon and place was practically empty , food was good and hot service first class
