My wife elected to have the buffet and just hurry thru and load a plate while I opted for a breakfast sandwich. She shared that most items on the buffet were pretty good but she also found that the country ham was so salty it was not edible and one of the hashbrown dishes on the bar was far from pleasing, aside from that she seemed pleased with everything else. My sandwich was just bacon and egg, my bacon was a bit overcooked (tho we all have different preferences there obviously) but more alarming was the fact that they actually served me hashbrowns that were so far beyond being done that I didn't even bother addressing it with our server, a kitchen that will send charred food to the table isn't a kitchen that I want to upset and send anything back to.....these were almost comical as to how beyond done they were and lastly we are in the south, sweet tea should be sweet. Now all of that said believe it or not I would go back, when speaking to locals while shopping later in the day they all raved about the place (I kept my experience to myself), my guess is maybe since we caught them in the transition period between breakfast and lunch that next time won't be so bad.
Good service, good buffet, lots to choose from and plenty of it!! Ate breakfast, everything from scrambled eggs, bacon, country ham, fried baloney, French toast, pancakes and the list goes on. If you walk away hungry, it's your fault! Reasonable price too. Great waitstaff.......they take good care of you
We had the buffet. NO FRIED CHICKEN!The main item was Salisbury steak. Does anyone really know what is a Salisbury steak? They had ham and some creamy and chicken. The only real veggie was green beans. We wanted a warm meal but we were seated without a menu. We assumed it was buffet only. We waited 10 minutes for drinks and to be told 'to help ourselves '.We asked 3 times for dinner rolls. The desserts were 3 things that looked like bread pudding, a chocolate pudding, something blueberry and very soft serve ice cream. We only saw our waitress once. I 've never skipped the tip but service was non existent. We were very surprised this place got such high ratings.I wish we had tried Brad 's BBQ.
Dinner Bell was a pleasant visit after a long travel for sure! Our waitress was very kind and attended to us frequently. The chefs did an amazing job on the food! It was clean and quaint. The atmosphere felt like if you came to visit your favorite grandmother and she made every favorite food you loved. It was very homey feeling. If we ever come this way again for vacation this will make an appearance I'm sure of it. Thank you for your hospitality!
It's a converted Cracker Barrel. But the good thing is they still have the gift shop, full of local items. They have a lunch buffet, which my husband got. I'm not a buffet gal, so I ordered off the menu. I got.a chicken sandwich and it was pretty dry. Service great. Easy access in and out of restaurant. No stairs. I would try again and get something different.
