Anthony's Pier 4 Cafe - Swampscott

Sat out on deck so would have great view of fireworks that night. Everything went great until entrees arrived. 2 of us ordered baked stuffed shrimp wanted crab cakes that were on menu were told they no longer have them). We each had a hard time cutting our shrimp- they apparently left shell on. Tasted ok once we had a bite but was kind of tasteless stuffing what there was of it was weird. We independently tried 2nd decided we wouldn't eat any more. Just not good, shrimp over cooked tough. Our fantastic waitress came by to check on our dinners told her we were done, just not good. She graciously said she would see about taking off bill. Manager came by to offer new entree which we declined he took off the bill. Others in our party had swordfish scrod which they enjoyed. We also had calamari, onion rings, shrimp cocktail and glover salad which were also very good.

The service was very slow due to our server being involved with a large party out in another room. We asked another server for water, and she spilled it all over my guest and all over the tablecloth, threw a napkin at him and never apologized! Not what I would expect from, the Anthony's experience! My card was so overcooked that it was chewy and it was surfs and a blend broth of a lot of oil! Not at all what was explained on the menu. My friends rice was so plain that he took all of the juice from my meal to try to bring some flavor to the rice. Although management came over and apologized for the issue with the water, we were never asked how our meals or apps were... A very disappointing experience, indeed

Service and atmosphere where fantastic. Food quality and quantity for the price was fair. My Prime rib had large fat seem in middle. My quess not roasting actual prime grade rib but 1 or 2 grades down. Then 6 oysters for $22 is high and they weren't that plump or big. My wifes scallops few to the order. Mind you the food was good just not memorable in taste. That feeling like you want to go back for more.. Other than that rest of food good, nice place as we enjoyed our anniversary together.

My dinner companion and I were served instantly and efficiently. The waitress was low-key and responsive. And the food was it's usual outstanding! Love this place and wish it were going to be around for many years to come. Kudos to the kitchen!

THIS IS DINING !!!! It is like stepping back decades to a civilized timk. If only we could enjoy it much more often ! Definitely NOT for the Chew and screw (and assault my eardrums) generation(s).
