In a seafood region, having such perfectly cooked meat is a delightful surprise. The salads and warm vegetables were all excellent, and the solyanka was a masterpiece, while the shurpa was simply incredible. We've returned here several times for lunch, and almost every time the place is full. On two occasions, we were even offered someone else’s table to sit down. A special thanks to the waitstaff; they did a wonderful job!
It seems like a nice place, located in the city center, and the food is tasty. However, unfortunately, they only accept cash payments, which is a significant downside in today's world—it feels like stepping back in time. Ultimately, my mood was spoiled, and I have no desire to return. Besides Shatr, there are plenty of great places in Svetlogorsk that accept card payments!
Payment is only accepted in cash or via QR code. We were seated at a table that had pieces of shish kebab on the floor. The Caesar salad with boiled chicken had very little dressing. The mushroom soup was terrible and inedible. There wasn’t even a hint of mushroom flavor; it tasted like diluted, heated cream at best. I returned the soup to the waiter with a comment about its unpalatability, but it was still added to the bill and we had to pay for it. There was absolutely no customer focus. The waiter also didn’t offer any alternatives from the menu. The latte was disappointing, with too little coffee, too much milk, and an unexpected nutty aftertaste, even though we hadn’t ordered any syrup. On the positive side, the pilaf was tasty, and the service was quick; however, that’s somewhat questionable since the place was nearly empty. If the "Shater" café can make delicious pilaf and shish kebabs, perhaps they should focus on those dishes and remove European cuisine from their menu.
The prices are reasonable, but it can take a long time for a waiter to come to your table. I didn't get to find out what the food tastes like. Payment is only in cash, and they let you know that right away. However, as I mentioned earlier, if you can manage to get someone's attention or go up to the kitchen and tell them what you want, you might have better luck. The staff really need to take their jobs more seriously, as they seem to excel at not working.
