Unusual to have to go up to the counter to order and pay but beyond those two minor issues, nothing to finf fault with and ultimately... you go to any restaurant for the good. The food was superb! Limited menu but everything that we ordered was absolutely spot on, delicious, wonderful complimentary flavours, perfectly cooked and the dishes we ordered supported, even enhanced each other fabulously. Blackened pumpkin was simply the sweetest, best pumpkin I have ever tasted. The smashed peas, broad beans with fetta and prosciutto was outstanding and one of the few times I have truly enjoyed my greens. The steak was cooked perfectly and the accompanying chat potato chips were unusual and went perfectly with the meat.and then dessert! No dessert menu but... a cabinet full of an incredible assortment of beautiful, decadent and fabulous cakes, tarts and slices. Every single one was tempting and the honey baked cheesecake that we finally selected to share was the perfect way to finish a perfect meal. Service was friendly, knowledgeable about their dishes and efficient. Prices were more than reasonable. Great night, great restaurant and so easy to see how this has become such a favourite with locals.
Yum. Highly recommended! The coffee was excellent, great atmosphere and busy little cafe. Need to go back to try some of the amazing cakes on display.
I love this place! It's warm in ambience and service and my breakfast was awesome. I'll continue to be a regular
Have been to the Knox twice for breakfast. Each time was very good, I would highly recommend. Waitstaff are polite and helpful, however you need to order at the counter. Meals came out very quickly, although the cafe was not too busy in the morning we were there. Could be difficult to get a table if you arrive at peak time (9:30–10:30). Prices are between $10-$20 for breakfast meals. I would recommend both the ham hock and the avocado seed loaf. (Ham hock + seed loaf +2 drinks equalled $45). Also great range of tarts and cakes for $5.50. Coffee was also good. The chai tea not very good, bland and tasteless, not a good blend. The Mexican option is a little unusual and maybe not to all tastes. Decor is rustic and hipster. Outdoor seating optional. Comfortable temperature inside. There is a small child friendly area inside, and we saw couples with infants or small children.
We arrived for lunch at 1.45. Surprising how busy it still was, and remained after we left an hour later. The staff look a little disorganised, but no one seems to mind. We ordered lunch for 2 adults and 2 children. The servings are huge. The food is delicious! We were able to take a doggy bag with no qualms. I would come back!
