Gou Sushi - Surry Hills

Best sushi I ever had in Sydney, the rainbow roll is AMAZING, fresh food and fish, good type of rice, lovely the staff and fast, everything amazing I think! I will be back soon!

Let me start by saying the sushi selection on offer was wide variety and looked very fresh. I tried the salmon aburi which is my fave sushi but I felt it lacked that char flavour aburi is known for, and the portion size was much smaller than other places I frequent. I got the spicy chicken karage which was not spicy at all, and was a little dry. Not the amazing dish that instagram suggests it to be, or perhaps I just stopped in on an off day. They have a loyalty card so that is pretty cool. For salmon aburi I much prefer Siore up on Foveaux St or shock horror, Sushi hub at Bankstown Centro is pretty good. Larger in size and super char flavour

Truly one of the best sushi trains in Sydney with an amazing lunch special price for most plates. Worthy of a short wait at lunchtime if busy. The restaurant clears as quickly as it packs up during lunch trade. Rainbow Roll and the charred nigiri are highlights of the conveyer belt and the soups satisfy if you are in need of additional sustenance. Special rolls are constantly changing, as they do in Japan with available fish. This is the place to try something new as the quality is top shelf. Wait time is very short for ordered items as there is generally a busy team of three in the kitchen. Only drawback in slightly inattentive wait staff but they seem not to mind if you waive across the restaurant when you need them.

I was surprised! It's quite nice casual sushi restaurant! Much tastier than any other sushi train or casual Japanese restaurants! More detail work, more flavor, Love it❤️

Love coming here for a quick lunch. The sushi train is always fresh but my favourite is the chowamushi - ordered off the menu, just make sure you order once you sit down to allow for cooking time.
