The campground is very clean and well kept. It will take a few years for It to become totally homey. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We do think the showers are very clean and kept up, the restaurant was always busy we found, which for a new establishment is very important. For the few negative reviews we saw in there files, maybe people ahold rethink there comments first, especially since it 's a new place trying to get there feet wet, planning and learning by doing. Qe first came across the resort 3 falls ago while out scouting for hunting season. They were willing to talk and chat, sharing there vision for the place. We will definitely share with friends and family of our experiences there. We will also be looking into using the campground again, the only thing I wish is that the powers that b will allow a sewer system that allows longer stays without having to dump your tanks. A1 keep up the good work, awesome campsites.
We were in the restaurant for Sunday brunch. Very nice facilities in a beautiful setting. Food was good with a nice variety of items. The only issue was food in buffet was warm but not hot enough. There wasn't many people there at the time we were there 11 so that was an issue.
Great little restaurant with appropriate selection of choices. Had the elk burger, bison burger and cauliflower steak. All meals were very well done. Server was friendly, knowledgeable and relaxed. Margaritas and Shirley Temple were well mixed. Stayed in the lakeside cabin. It had everything we needed. Very good idea to order BBQ box and breakfast box. Tons of food and good quality. Loved the cornbread. Staff very welcoming and engaged. Made us feel very taken care of. Not sure why there weren?t more people staying at campsites.
I had heard of this restaurant from a co worker who had stopped here while visiting family in the area. I must say it was incredibly surprising to find such good dining this far out. Firstly I must say how accommodating the staff are here. We had made reservations for 1pm on Canada day, but due to a wrong turn during a hike we became turned around. Needless to say we didn't arrive at the restaurant until 3pm. The staff were able To get us a table during a busy life singing event and we really appreciated that. As for our order we started with the elk spring rolls, I must start by saying that my partner and I were really impressed with the spring rolls, having traveled to China and frequenting Chinese restaurants we aren't easily impressed by spring rolls for the most part. However the chef here really has great spin on a staple Chinese dish, and they come loaded with elk we were very impressed, and the jam dipping sauce was quite unique, what a great pairing. As for main dishes I ordered the bison tenderloin and my partner ordered the Bison short ribs. To start the bison tenderloin was cooked just as ordered medium rare, the steak was very tender, I really enjoyed the fried onions on top , really flavorful. The asparagus was tender and the pairing of mashed potatoes and au jus really complemented the bison steak. As for the dish my partner ordered the Bison short ribs had definitely been marinating before as the meat was soaked and had a really nice texture and seasoning, really a warming flavor reminiscent of a stew on a cold day, the asparagus was cooked quite well and the accompanying rice was a nice base for the ribs. All around we really enjoyed the meal, the atmosphere and the fact that the chef would periodically step out of the kitchen and ask the dining guests what they thought of the food. I definitely recommend making the trip, the food is well worth it
