Celebrating my husband's birthday and the 4th of July we decided to try South Fork kitchen. The cocktails were simply amazing! The clam chowder was like no clam chowder we had anywhere else, it actually had clams. We also had the grilled octopus tender and grilled to perfection. Our experience at South Fork kitchen was overall amazing!
Cool place with a great vibe. They have really good wines. Last night we just had a couple of apps of the shrimp cocktail and ceviche. Very good! Sundays is happy hour so the raw bar is half price!
I want so badly to love this place. They have a few things that are just slamming. Every time we try something new it?s a bust. Our 3rd visit. The good: Crispy tuna app, burger The bad: terrible rum old fashioned, the cauliflower app was super soggy and massive pieces of cauliflower. Should be crispy. The dessert which was described as 3 little ice cream sandwiches was 3 cream puffs stuffed with ice cream and the cream puffs were super dry. Stick to what ya know? Oh yea and the owner was there and didn?t say a word to a single patron. He could take some cues from places like The Gafford where the owner knows everyone and makes you feel great and buys you drinks when you are a regular. Oh and the entire place was open and another couple came in and they sat them right in front of us. So awkward!!
I wanted to LOVE this place... But it was just OK for me. Sitting outside in a parking lot did not add the ambience I was looking for. My fault bc I didn 't research the location before booking. The flatbread was OK, my husband got the Korean Pork Belly and he really loved it. I got the octopus but for me it was a bit chewy. I get it at a place in Tampa and it is like butter. The sauce it was on was delicious however. My husband 's BAMF burger and fries were delicious. My friend enjoyed the tuna special served on black rice and her husband got a steak which he seemed to enjoy. I got scallops... I received four... Which seems more like an appetizer. It was served on street corn so I asked for the sides the salmon was served on instead. Mashed cauliflower and it was delicious. I had two bourbon drinks that were very good. It is hard to articulate but I was really looking for an experience and this was just, for me, OK. Nothing spectacular and again, the parking lot ambience did not lend to any speciality. Maybe it was different inside? Everyone enjoyed the food but coming from Palm Beach I am not sure we would make a trip there again to have something twice. Give it a try though! The food was good and you may love the experience!
