Her noodles were a little tough though I did enjoy my ice tea and I liked how they are doing fried banana, but the friend banana pieces are too small so your tasting too much batter and not banana,I like that at least you had this option Food did come out at a reasonable rate but seating is really limited,no big groups here. At least you can eat at the middle table section of the plaza My missus would give this 3/5,I would have to agree

I went to ho jiak on Sunday night and grab Hainanse chicken rice as I always got from there. A bonus for the night was the combo meal of getting tea Tarik with one side dish. I chose chicken wings. During first few bites it tasted great but became a bit tasteless (more of boiled chicken) as the wings were a bit over boiled before deep fried. Be careful they used lots of turmeric which made the fingers turn yellow in seconds.
Ho Jiak is a popular eatery in Strathfield which offers an assortment of Malaysian favourites including Char Kway Teow, Nasi Goreng and Hainanese Chicken Rice. I visited the eatery for their Nasi Goreng (with sambal prawns and fried chicken wings) last weekend. Although the Nasi Goreng was delicious, it lacked the intensity and wok fried taste we associate with Mamak stalls in Malaysia. The fried chicken wings were also limp and soggy. ???????? I hope they improve on their ordering and queuing procedures too!!
The standout dishes are the char kway teow, roti canai with curry beef and the laksa. Other dishes I find to be average or below average. Recently, the food quality has gone downhill a bit. For such small portions, we expect the food to be perfect, so we won't be returning. I actually got sick when I tried the Mee Mamak!
