Giggling Squid - Stratford-on-Avon

Good food and good ambience. Pleasantly surprised to see a different menu of choices. Food was freshly prepared and varied and not the typical curry sauce being used over and over again. For example the spicy chicken had fresh peppers (black and green peppers that are ultimately dried)Appetizers were good, kids menu is for smal children (Upto yrs). Service was fine but mains took a bit longer at peak time (around despite ordering all at once. We should asked for the mains to be delivered right after the appetizers. Decor was refreshing with pale blue green colors and pictures of flowers and orchids. Did not realize that this is part of a chain all over the UK and there is one near home!All in all, good Thai restaurant. Some dishes are on the pricey side but it cost us for with a drink each.

Love Thai food and the Giggling Squid didn’t disappoint. Very busy but the service was very good. Spring rolls were excellent as were the prawn crackers and sauce. Our two main meals were chicken curries and both were very tasty. Our choice to have sticky rice and this was disappointing. With the current climate a number of drink options were unavailable but the red wine was acceptable. The meal was so delicious we’ll refrain from complaining about the compulsory service charge.

I have been to a few giggling squid restaurants, but this one does not live up to the others standards. The restaurant is beautifully designed, but on entry we weren’t made to feel particularly welcome. The food was served very quickly but was mediocre with very little flavour. The food was served on plates that had several chips out of them. They automatically add a 10% to the bill for service charge but the card machine is presented to you do quickly we did not notice until after we had paid. Not an experience we enjoyed.

Food was ok? Some tasty dishes but the service was way below standard im afraid. We were forgotten about and seemed to take ages to get drinks.

I would loved to have been able to provide a review of the food but sadly it was not meant to be. We booked a day in advance to make sure we got a table after reading the glowing reviews . Arrived on time Then sat for 25 minutes totally ignored by all members of staff, not even given an opportunity to order a drink. Left and enjoyed a rather excellent meal elsewhere
