Barney's Cafe - Stratford-on-Avon

The three staff members at this restaurant have no intelligence. It took four tries to make a bacon and sausage sandwich, and when I finally received it, the egg yolk was on the bread. I don't eat eggs, so just a heads up that the staff here are incompetent and indifferent. I would recommend avoiding this place.

I recently had a disappointing experience at the only cafe on this stretch. The tomatoes in my sandwich were so hot that they burned the roof of my mouth, leaving me with a blister that is now really sore. It seemed like they had been microwaved. I hate to say that I may have to start skipping this place for breakfast, as the overall standard of the food is not very good. Additionally, I always feel like I am inconveniencing the staff whenever I go in to order, despite always being polite and saying please and thank you. Unfortunately, I don't receive the same courtesy in return.

This cafe is absolutely terrible! I work next door and my girlfriend and I bought cheese sandwiches today. She took a bite of hers and immediately got sick at work within 5 minutes. We are taking this to trading standards. The sandwich was moldy and when we complained, the staff didn't care and claimed the cheese packaging might have had a hole in it. They even tried to take the sandwich back from us. To make matters worse, one of the staff members with dark hair was vaping at the entrance of the cafe, and the manager was smoking actual cigarettes. The hygiene of the place is also appalling, with dirty appliances, floors, and bathrooms. I refuse to pay my tab and will not be going back. This has been by far the worst cafe experience I've ever had. No apologies were given for making my girlfriend sick. This place should be shut down for a while and undergo a new hygiene inspection. Avoid this place at all costs!

The sandwiches in this cafe are the freshest I have had for a long time, they are always consistent and the staff are very friendly and chatty. Have a good selection of food, sweets and drinks great place to visit for lunch

Tea and toast, simple first order of the day, I must have upset them disturbing the morning news paper read for this order. Toast had been threatened with butter( very dry) and the tea- well there’s a tea bag in the hot water, now I go to the table for sugar and then to another area to get milk from the fridge, mean while both back to the papers Service with a grimace guaranteed here
