Whiskey Barrel - Stratford

I was pleasantly surprised by the fantastic bar food and charm of this hidden gem! Don't let its dive bar history fool you; it has transformed in such a wonderfully positive way. I sat at the bar for a drink and dinner, and the locals really made it feel cozy and welcoming. The conversations were delightful, the service was top-notch, and the food was amazing. We have a small event coming up and plan to place an order this week. I can't recommend this place enough—I absolutely loved it!

The teriyaki chicken bowl with quinoa was decent, although it leaned a bit towards being salty. One of my friends really enjoyed the Southwestern chicken salad. The beer selection was impressive—our friendly server mentioned there were either 30 or 50 taps to choose from. On the downside, I found the cocktails disappointing. I didn’t enjoy either drink I tried. I ended up returning the first, the ‘Jameson Cold Brew’ (what was that about?!), and I didn’t have the heart to send back the grapefruit margarita with jalapeño-cilantro infused simple syrup. Overall, the cocktail menu feels too ambitious, with combinations that don’t quite hit the mark. It might be a good idea to bring in a mixologist to freshen up the cocktail offerings at this lively local spot. Alternatively, sticking with the beer selection could be the better choice.

I recently had a fantastic lunch experience at this restaurant. The food was absolutely exceptional, deserving a perfect score of 5. Every dish was carefully prepared and bursting with flavor. The service was equally impressive, with attentive and friendly staff who made us feel welcome throughout our meal. The atmosphere was delightful, creating a warm and inviting setting that added to our overall enjoyment. I highly recommend this place for an outstanding dining experience!

My husband and I just enjoyed the best brunch we've had in a long time! You absolutely must try the breakfast quesadilla and the burrito. Our daughter, who is 10, had the plain mac and cheese, and she loved it! The staff was incredibly friendly as well—thank you, Jenna! We will definitely be returning often!
