It seems to be struggling against its competitor, Bon Pan Asia. It's a pity because, formerly known as Mr. Chan's, it used to be the top Chinese restaurant in Hanley.
The food I experienced here was the worst I've ever tasted; I wouldn't even consider giving it to a dog.
To say the experience was unsettling is an understatement; it felt like dining with the mob. I managed to stay a mere 20 minutes while feeling genuinely anxious. We spent £8 each on two vodka lemonades, only to discover they were just Archers and Coke—I'm not quite sure how that mix-up occurred. The food selection was minimal; if you enjoy Tesco's own Bakewell tart, crispy orange slices, or Aldi Jaffa cakes, then this might be the dessert destination for you. The layout was not ideal for couples, with all tables set for groups of ten or more, making it difficult to have an intimate conversation. The children in the place seemed mischievous, and I wouldn't be surprised if they swiped something from your grandma. Overall, those were probably the worst 20 minutes of my life. Thanks to my best friend for choosing Chinese for Valentine's Day; it’s safe to say I won’t be returning unless I want to end a relationship on a future Valentine's Day.
I really enjoyed my experience and would definitely go back. I visited on Wednesday at 7:00 PM and paid £13.99 per person, which included a huge buffet selection with sushi, sweet and sour dishes, steak, as well as strawberries and melon, among other options. The atmosphere wasn't too crowded, and everyone was friendly, making for a pleasant dining experience. It would be even better if all the food were freshly cooked, but given the price, it’s a great deal, especially since it's all-you-can-eat. I'm looking forward to returning!
