Booked here for Friday dinner. On arrival we were met by a pretty unenthusiastic member of staff who showed us to our table. We were seated in the conservatory area which, although having a lovely view of the river, was more reminiscent of a nursing home, totally lacking in atmosphere. Starters were pretty average and we ordered Streak Ale pie and Venison Stew as mains. The steak pie was pretty tasteless, with a watery gravy and my partners stew was again pretty tasteless and watery to the point that she had to ask for a spoon to eat it. The sticky toffee pudding dessert wasn’t as good as a shop bought one from Morrisons. There’s a general lack of enthusiasm from staff and I must say that those working in the restaurant were extremely scruffy and appeared to have no idea how to work an iron. I was pretty disappointed with this place and I really wouldn’t recommend it. I certainly won’t be returning.
We had a wonderful time over the Easter weekend at this charming restaurant and event venue. A group of 37 of us enjoyed a delicious three-course dinner prepared by a talented chef in a beautiful dining room. The Chicken Balmoral was a standout dish. After dinner, we were entertained by the band of Duncan and Jock who provided lively music for a Ceilidh, with help from friendly locals. Overall, it was a fantastic evening and we want to thank Prachi and the team at this lovely old hotel for their hospitality.
We enjoyed drinks and dinner at the Killin Hotel. Was busy that night, and had a nice atmosphere. Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was fantastic!
Really lovely meals, good vegan options, excellent friendly service, conservatory-style eating area with cool lights and furniture, and views of the evening sunset turning the hills red- perfect
