When the waitress finally came back to our table, I voiced my complaints about the other two meals. She offered to take half off the bill. I insisted that we should get three meals taken off, since none of them had even been half-eaten—just two or three bites. I asked to speak to the manager and waited 30 minutes for the bartender, who claimed to be the acting manager. I explained the situation again and stated that I wouldn't pay for the three dinners that were nearly untouched. After waiting another 30 minutes, I went to the bar to ask for my bill. The bartender rudely insisted they were very busy and that she'd get to me when she could, as they were "swamped due to a funeral party." I simply asked for my bill, and she accused me of being rude. I found it odd that there was a funeral party on a Sunday evening when no cemeteries hold burials late in the day, especially not on a Sunday. I further explained that if there was a visitation, it should still be occurring. When she asked what I do for a living, I told her it was not relevant. She then loudly announced, “She won’t even tell me where she works!” while laughing. An easy resolution would have been to provide me with an accurate copy of my bill so we could pay and leave. Customer service is crucial for any business's success, and in this case, the staff failed miserably. Although most of us were visiting family in Staunton and we had a party of seven, you would think the waitress would have been more attentive, especially considering she would have received a decent tip. Instead, we dealt with her indifference and the rude bartender, which has led me to write this review. It’s clear that the management needs to overhaul the staff and start fresh!
