The pictures on the website must be from years ago. This place was VERY run down, and definitely did not match what I saw online. Anyway, my husband and I said we would make the best of it, since that was our only option. Looking back, my car would have been a much better choice. We decided to go get something to eat, but wanted to tour this historical bed and breakfast Well, that was a big mistake. We walked through the dining area and saw the kitchen (insert puke emoji) What we saw in the kitchen came straight from an episode of Hoarders. my OCD went through the roof. I walked out of that room into the adjacent dining area. My 10 year old daughter is walking in front of me, and says, I just stepped in P I literally thought she was kidding until my husband shines the light on his phone down to where she had stood, and sure enough, 3 huge TURDS on the DINNING ROOM FLOOR! The mess in the reception area was inexcusable. The full bed was as old as Noah, and most likely came back with him on the Arc. Breakfast was served, but there was NO WAY we were staying to eat. I feel like I handed the owner/manager/whatever he is $115.00, and he laughed the whole way to the bank. Sad 100% DO NOT RECCOMEND!
The service was wonderful and the food was AMAZING. One morning we had homemade blueberry pancakes and the next we had omelettes that were delicious . The owner discovered that I wasn’t big on eggs so he went out of his way to make something especially for me on our last morning there. We stay here whenever we’re in town and we’re never disappointed.
It's a lovely place and a nice town. The Inn is walkable to places to eat and drink. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed that there was strong cat odor as well as dust throughout the Inn and even in our room. We decided to leave. The innkeeper was kind and he did offer us other accommodations more than once, so that was something very nice.
My Wife and I were planning a last minute trip to visit with my old college friends for Homecoming weekend at GSU and a friend said his daughter was staying here, so I figured I might be able to get a room at the last minute more easily. I called but there was no answer or recording. So, I went to the website and got their email address and emailed, but never got a response. So, I called the next morning and got an answer and a room reserved. It was only $85/night. When we arrived it was a bit had to figure out where to go to check in. The place must be 150 years old. It was an easy check in. I went to the area where our room was located and went up to the room first. My wife walked in and saw in the small area at the bottom of the steps furniture that looked like it was from a yard sale with holes in it. Not a great start, since she was excited to go to her first ever B&B stay. Then, there were about 20 steps to get up to our room. She has bad knees, hips, and foot and wasn't happy about that either. The room was a tad better, but very old. Some lights worked, and other didn't. I couldn't get the wifi to work. The toilet was very short, so I had to help her off of it several times. I did see bugs twice. She was not about to try the breakfast food. The mattress was very old with an egg crate on top then covers over that. Not good!! I thought it might have been better than the Days Inn where some of my friends were staying. Their daughter was staying in the cottage with her husband and child and didn't think it was awful until one of them got up at 1:00am and turned on the lights and saw roaches scatter. That did it for them!! I would never recommend or stay here again..
Welcoming old fashioned Inn, serving nice breakfast. Our room was clean. Everything is old but thats what you get with a place like this.
