The recipe hasn't changed: the batter is perfectly crispy, encasing moist and tender fish. It's just as delicious as the fish and chips you'll find in England, but at much better prices. Cheers to tradition and the Royal Guard! Long live the Royal Guard!
I've enjoyed Royal Guard Fish Chips for many years, and I've never been disappointed. It’s the closest I've tasted to the authentic experience in Stamford since returning from active duty, six of which were spent in Scotland. There, I had fish and chips at least once a week, always with HP sauce and wrapped in newspaper.
Walked in with my family on a Sunday afternoon. Friendly and courteous staff. Food was great. Good environment for the family. Menu has kid friendly dishes.
This is my mom 's favorite Fish Chips spot. I 'm not much of fish fan but I must admit their fish is pretty good, I even order it a few times myself. It is always clean and fresh! Recently they changed their fries style from skinny shoe string to a thicker cut, I like it. But my favorite thing to order here is the chicken tenders. They are literally PERFECT. I have never had a chicken finger from here that was bad. All beautiful white meat, not chewy, thinly cut with the perfect amount of breading, fried to perfection. No seriously. They are perfect. Their honey mustard is my favorite, bbq sauce is good too! My only suggestion to any reader planning to go here is once you get home open the 'hot bag ' fast because the steam from the food will soggy/soften up the crunchy fried fish. The owners are very kind people too. Just go!
A perfect place to go to for fish and chips. Their food are savory delicious. I have had other fish and chips but nothing like the ROYAL GUARD FISH AND CHIPS.
